

Newfoundland Regiment takes to ice tonight
The Newfoundland Regiment will play tonight and Friday at the Mary Brown's Centre in St. John's when they go head-to-head against the Drummondville Voltigeurs. The game gets underway at 7:00 p.m. The team is currently third in the Eastern Conference. After those two games, their next game at the Mary Brown's Centre will be on February 11 when they face off against the Saint John Sea Dogs.

Newfoundland Regiment picks up win against Charlottetown Islanders
At the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown last night, the Newfoundland Regiment beat the Charlottetown Islanders by a score of 4 to 1. Dawson Sharkey, Justin Larose, Marek Danicek and Blake Pilgrim-Edwards all picked up goals for the Regiment, with Marcus Kearsey scoring the single goal for the Islanders. The next game is on Sunday, December 28, when the Regiment will face off against the Halifax Mooseheads at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax.

Team Brad Jacobs and Team Rachel Homan to represent Canada at Olympics
Curling trials wrapped up in Halifax on Sunday. Team Brad Jacobs, from Calgary, Alberta, has earned gold in the men's and Team Rachel Homan, from Ottawa, Ontario, took gold for the women's. For the second year in a row, the Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series winners. In Game 7 of the MLB playoffs, the Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 5 to 4 in 11 innings at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Yoshinobu Yamamoto of the Dodgers was named World Series MVP.
