Curling trials wrapped up in Halifax on Sunday. Team Brad Jacobs, from Calgary, Alberta, has earned gold in the men's and Team Rachel Homan, from Ottawa, Ontario, took gold for the women's. Brad Gushue, winner of the 2024 Montana's Brier, lost on Wednesday to Brad Jacobs. The winners of the men's and women's events will represent Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

For the second year in a row, the Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series winners. In Game 7 of the MLB playoffs, the Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 5 to 4 in 11 innings at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Yoshinobu Yamamoto of the Dodgers was named World Series MVP.
