Dawson Mercer traded to the Winnipeg Jets

Dawson Mercer has been traded to the Winnipeg Jets.

On Friday, Mercer, along with Nick Bjugstad and Nico Daws, along with the rights to Alexander Command, who remains unsigned, were traded to Winnipeg for Connor Hellebuyck, who will go to the New Jersey Devils.

Mercer, the Newfoundland and Labrador native, plays centre and right wing positions. He was drafted 18th overall by New Jersey in 2020 and has played six NHL seasons with the Devils.

He has scored 103 goals and 110 assists in 420 career regular-season games at the time of the trade.
