Free webinar to highlight concussion awareness and management

Coaches, sport administrators and others involved in athletics can take part in a free webinar focused on concussion awareness, diagnosis and management.

The session is being offered as part of Concussion Awareness Week, which runs September 16 to 20, and brings together colleagues from across Atlantic Canada.

The webinar takes place September 23 and features presentations on concussion diagnosis and management, as well as the legal considerations surrounding concussion management in sports.

Presenters include Dr. Tina Atkinson, Chief Medical Officer for the Professional Women’s Hockey League, and Will Russell, a sport lawyer and co-author of the Canadian Olympic Committee’s national conduct standard.

Organizers say the session provides an opportunity for coaches and administrators to hear from national leaders in concussion medicine and sports liability.
