Motorists in Newfoundland and Labrador are seeing slight decreases in fuel prices following the latest adjustment by the province’s fuel pricing regulator. According to the latest changes, all types of gasoline motor fuel decreased by up to 0.1 cents per litre. Diesel motor fuel prices on the Island also dropped by up to 0.1 cents per litre, while diesel prices in western Labrador remained unchanged. Auditor General Denise Hanrahan released a performance audit Tuesday examining the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation’s Transitional Supportive Living Initiative at 106 Airport Road, finding the project was not adequately planned, procured, managed, or overseen. The report, tabled in the House of Assembly, reviewed whether contracts related to the initiative were properly handled and whether sufficient oversight measures were in place throughout the project. Victoria council formally elected Sharon Penney as mayor during its first public meeting following the recent municipal election. Council also elected Kelly Loch as deputy mayor for the remainder of the current general election term. The Michael Donovan Public Library will be moving out of the Waterford Valley Mall at the end of June. In a notice shared with patrons, the library said its final day open to the public at the current location will be Saturday, June 13. Library officials say the branch will reopen at a new location, although further details have not yet been announced.
