The RCMP arrested a 50-year-old impaired driver on Tuesday evening after attempting to avoid a police checkpoint on Route 60. At approximately 9:30 p.m., officers were conducting a checkpoint in the community of Holyrood when the operator of an approaching vehicle was observed veering off onto a side road.
