Video of arrest in Sheshatshiu under review

The RCMP has come under the microscope after a video surfaced online of an arrest in Sheshatshiu on Tuesday.

The video, taken the suspects girlfriend, shows the man being arrested by three RCMP officers.

In the video, the man is resisting arrest, and the man was punched and kicked at one point by an officer. Later in the video, the officer uses a taser.

Both the Innu leadership and members of the Sheshatshiu Innu First Nation are calling the circumstances surrounding the arrest excessive force.

The RCMP has not issued a statement.
