

Fuel prices fall across the province
The cost of all fuels is down today. Gas has dropped a half a cent. Diesel is down by one cent. The cost of furnace oil heating fuel on the Island decreased by 0.83 cents. Stove oil heating fuel in Zones 13 and 13a in Labrador decreased by 0.87 cents. Propane heating fuel decreased by 0.7 cents.

RCMP investigating assault in Carbonear
An investigation is underway after a 69-year-old woman allegedly attacked a man at a sporting event in Carbonear yesterday. Just after 12:30 p.m., Grace RCMP received a report of an individual who was physically assaulted at the soccer field on High Road South in Carbonear. Hunters asked to be mindful of Caribou with collars while hunting
Officials with the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture continue to fit a small number of caribou with satellite collars and ear tags. Hunters are asked to avoid harvesting collared caribou when possible. If a hunter were to harvest a caribou with a collar, they are asked to return the collar to the Wildlife Division so the data can be retrieved. RNC in Labrador City arrests impaired driver
The RNC in Labrador City has charged a man with impaired driving. Police received a report of a possible impaired driver around 8:00 p.m. yesterday. The suspect vehicle was subsequently located, and a traffic stop was conducted. The 42-year-old male driver was arrested for impaired driving. He was also charged with refusing to provide a breath sample, resisting arrest, and uttering threats. The driver had his vehicle impounded and licence suspended. He was held in custody
