It's the end of an era as Hockey Night in Canada will no longer be broadcast on CBC.

After 12 years, the partnership between Sportsnet and CBC has ended, and the public broadcaster will no longer carry NHL broadcasts.

Sportsnet will be the sole broadcaster moving forward.

CBC plans to increase sports coverage of high-performance athletes and events and will launch a new Saturday night primetime show, highlighting Canada’s athletes.
