Canada Games commence on Sunday with some road closures

The Canada games will hold its opening ceromony today.

The first games take place on Sunday. Events taking place on Sunday include:

• Baseball - Men's

• Basketball

• Box Lacrosse - Women's

• Soccer - Men's

• Softball - Women's

• Swimming

• Tennis

To facilitate cycling events the Team Gushue Highway from Topsail Road to Goldstone Street, including all access points will be closed on Sunday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Monday from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

George’s Pond Road from Blackmarsh Road to Team Gushue Highway and Brier Avenue from New Pennywell Road to Team Gushue Highway will also be closed,

Kelsey Drive/Goldstone Street will have lane reductions near the Team Gushue Highway overpass. Two-lane traffic will be maintained.

The Canada Games runs until August 25.
