Decreases in most fuel prices
The maximum price of gasoline is down by 3.9 cents per litre. Diesel prices on the Island and in western Labrador fell by up to 7.9 cents per litre. Home heating fuels also saw decreases. Furnace oil on the Island dropped by 6.83 cents per litre, while stove oil in western Labrador declined by the same amount. The board said the changes were based on the most recently available market data as of the close of business on June 4 and did not reflect more recent market activity.

Police issue Canada-wide warrant for man wanted for murder in Labrador
The RCMP's Major Crimes Unit has charged 30-year-old David Faucher with first-degree murder in connection with the homicide of Franz Drosch in Happy Valley-Goose Bay back in August of 2023. Scallop Fishery Opens in Area 2
The federal government has announced the opening of the scallop fishery in Scallop Fishing Area 2 this morning. The Department of Fisheries and Oceans said the fishery opened at 6 a.m., allowing harvesters to begin fishing in the designated area. Fish harvesters are being encouraged to review the latest fishery notices and regulations before heading to sea. DFO publishes notices for all commercial fisheries through its online Fishery Notices system.
