Two Charged With Court Order Breaches Following Traffic Stop

Two people have been charged with breaching court orders following a traffic stop in the City’s Center on September 12.

At approximately 9:50 p.m., members of Operational Patrol Services conducted a traffic stop. The 43-year-old male driver initially provided police with a false name and was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s licence.

Further investigation determined that the man was subject to a release order prohibiting him from being around the 36-year-old female passenger.

The woman also initially provided police with a false name. She was found to be subject to a release order prohibiting her from being around the male driver.

Both individuals were charged separately with breaches of their respective court orders. They were also each charged with public mischief for allegedly attempting to divert police suspicion by providing false names.

Both were held to appear in court in the morning.
