

Fuel price changes for June 10
Gas has increased by 1.3 cents per litre today. The cost of diesel on the Island also went up by 0.9 cents, while diesel in western Labrador dropped by 0.1 cents. Furnace oil heating fuel on the Island increased by 0.77 cents, and stove oil heating fuel in western Labrador decreased by 0.35 cents. The next price adjustment is on Thursday, June 11.

RCMP conducting operation in Carbonear
The RCMP is currently conducting a police operation in Carbonear. Residents will see an increased police presence in the area of Gilmour Place. While police do not believe there is any immediate threat to the general public, residents are being asked to avoid the area at this time. Efforts continue to eradicate invasive beetle in St. John's
There has been an increase in the number of detections of the Japanese beetle in the St. John’s area. The Japanese beetle is an invasive species in Canada. The Department of Forestry, Agriculture and Lands is working with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and various industry stakeholders. Veterans Memorial Highway closed due to collision
Bay Roberts RCMP is advising that emergency crews are responding to a two-vehicle collision along the Veterans Memorial Highway between the Roaches Line and Makinsons interchanges. The Veterans Memorial Highway is closed as a result, and traffic is being diverted onto Roaches Line and Hodgewater Line. Updates will be provided when available.
