Woman arrested after assault in St. John’s West End

A 27-year-old woman was arrested and charged following an incident at a residence in the west end of St. John’s late Friday night.
RNC officers responded to a call for assistance to the public at approximately 9:28 p.m. on Jan. 30. Police say officers spoke with the complainant at the scene and were advised that the situation had escalated.
As a result, the woman was arrested and charged with assault. Police say she later became uncooperative with officers and was additionally charged with three counts of assaulting a peace officer.
The woman was held in custody overnight and was scheduled to appear in court.
