Video of student assault draws widespread reactions

A video circulating online of a student being assaulted at Ascension Collegiate in Bay Roberts has gone viral in the area.

The video, which Newfound News has decided not to show, shows a student being attacked and punched by two other students.

There is a motorcycle rally planned in support of the student on Thursday afternoon, where the motorcade will depart Tim Hortons in Carbonear at 2:00 p.m. and proceed to Bay Roberts. A rally will also be held on October 1st.

There has been no public statement from the RCMP, but an investigation is underway.
