Public invited to help shape Newfoundland and Labrador rural revitalization strategy

The Provincial Government is asking residents, municipalities, Indigenous governments and organizations, businesses and community groups to help shape a new strategy aimed at revitalizing rural Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Department of Jobs, Growth and Rural Development says it is taking a region-by-region approach to developing the strategy, with the goal of supporting sustainable economic growth and stronger rural communities.

Public and stakeholder feedback is being sought on several areas, including a shared vision for rural revitalization, challenges and opportunities facing rural regions, regional economic development and local leadership.

The government is also seeking input on priorities and actions that could support rural communities and economies, as well as how progress and success should be measured.

People can participate by completing an online questionnaire through EngageNL, registering for an in-person or virtual consultation session, or submitting written feedback.
