An area of low pressure will bring snow, snow squalls, rain, and strong winds to Newfoundland and Labrador today.
Newfoundland will see generally 5 to 10 cm of snow today, with the exception of the Avalon and Burin Peninsula, where a rain and snow mix is expected. Along the west coast, snow squalls are expected, so amounts may be higher locally. Winds across most of the province will gust from 80 to 100 km/h; gusts will be higher in some coastal areas. Highs from minus 7 to plus 2 are expected.
Labrador will also see snow today, with amounts of 15 to 25 cm expected for the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area and 20 to 35 cm, with locally higher amounts possible along the coast. Winds will gust from 60 to 80 km/h. Highs from minus 19 to minus 7 are expected.
