Stormy start to the week across eastern Newfoundland

Heavy snow will continue into this afternoon across the Avalon Peninsula with an additional 5 cm expected. About 5 cm is expected in Gander and Clarenville, and 2 to 4 cm of snow is expected across the remainder of central and western areas. The strong winds on the Avalon will diminish later in the morning. Highs will be between minus 10 and minus 2.

The weather will be much nicer across Labrador today. Most areas will see sunny skies with a few more clouds in western areas. Daytime highs will be between minus 13 and minus 23.
