A messy mix of precipitation is expected across the province today.

Eastern regions, including St. John’s and the Avalon Peninsula, will see freezing rain changing to rain, with 10–15 mm of rainfall and up to 30 mm along the southern shore. Temperatures will rise slightly above freezing, with highs near +3 to +5°C, as winds ease through the afternoon.

Central areas, including Clarenville and Gander, will experience ice pellets, freezing rain, and periods of snow, with light rainfall amounts near the coast and highs around 0 to +1.

Heavier winter weather is expected across parts of central and northeastern Newfoundland, where snow and ice pellets could total 10 to 15 cm, along with strong winds and poor visibility at times.

Western and northern areas will see mainly snow, with 5 to 15 cm expected, gusty winds, and colder temperatures holding near -4 to 0°C.
