St. John's signs basketball lease for five years

A lease agreement has been reached to bring a new professional basketball team to Mile One Centre this fall.

The lease was signed on September 7 and details on the team and ticket sales will be announced soon.

Tony Kenny is the owner of the group 2001 Investments Limited which iwll being the team to the province.

Back in July the City and the owner of the St. John's Edge could not reach a lease agreement to keep the team at Mile One Centre.
