RNC arrest 22-year-old man in St. John’s kidnapping investigation

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has charged a 22-year-old man following an intimate partner violence investigation in St. John’s.

Police say officers responded Saturday, Jan. 17, to a report that a woman was in distress and believed to have been kidnapped from a residence in the city’s west end. Officers located the woman and later confirmed her safety.

Following the investigation, the man was charged with kidnapping, criminal harassment and assault. He was held in custody to appear in provincial court today.
