RCMP arrest Blackhead resident for uttering threats during wildfire evacuation

On Monday evening at approximately 6:30 p.m., RCMP officers deployed to the active wildfire in the Kingston area responded to a report of threats of harm made towards first responders by a resident of Blackhead.
A 62-year-old man was taken into police custody without incident. He was transported to and held in custody overnight at the Harbour Grace RCMP detachment.
The man faces a criminal charge of uttering threats. He was released from police custody earlier today and is expected to make his first appearance in court in Harbour Grace on October 15, 2025.
The investigation is continuing.
