Chabad of Newfoundland will light a public eight-foot menorah at the Viking Building's parking lot in St. John's on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.

“Hanukkah’s message of light and freedom is timeless and universal,” said Rabbi Chernitsky. “At a time when our world longs for peace and understanding, the Menorah reminds us that every act of goodness and every light we kindle helps illuminate the path forward.”

During the ceremony, a menorah will be lit, accompanied by entertainment for all ages, including fireworks, as well as complimentary hot drinks and donuts.

The menorah in St. John's is one of over 15,000 large public menorahs throughout the world.

Hanukkah is an eight-day Festival of Lights that begins this year on the evening of Sunday, December 14 and concludes on Monday, December 22 at nightfall.
