Province Seeks Child Care Operators for New Advisory Panel

The Newfoundland and Labrador government is seeking child care operators to serve on a new advisory panel aimed at helping shape the future of the province’s child care system.

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development has issued an expression of interest for membership on the panel, which will provide advice on challenges facing the sector and recommend solutions to improve services for children and families.

The advisory panel will support the development, implementation and oversight of child care initiatives across the province. Members will offer feedback directly to the minister and departmental officials on issues affecting the sector.

The province said the panel will include up to 12 members representing a range of child care providers and regions.

The government said the panel is intended to support the continued growth of the child care sector and help advance high-quality, inclusive, affordable and accessible services throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

Applications are open to child care operators and licensees interested in serving on the panel. The deadline for submissions is July 3.
