One person was sent to hospital following a motorcycle accident in Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove

One person was sent to hospital following a single motorcycle accident on Maddox Cove Road on Saturday.

Emergency services got the call at around 4:50 p.m. on Saturday reporting a motorcycle accident in the community of Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove. When emergency services arrived on scene the single occupant of a motorcycle had lost control on the gravel then coming to a rest nearby.

Paramedics with Newfoundland Health Services (NLHS) and Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) put the occupant of the motorcycle on a stretcher and placed her aboard a nearby waiting Ambulance where she was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A portion Maddox Cove Road was closed as police secured the scene due to the accident being on a turn.
