MRI services coming to Grand Falls-Windsor

On Tuesday, Premier Tony Wakeham announced that a new MRI scanner will be added to the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor.

This marks the first time that MRI services will be offered in Grand Falls-Windsor.

There is also a plan to put an MRI scanner in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and two more new MRIs in other areas of the province.

Work on the infrastructure required to accommodate the new scanner has begun, and the MRI is expected to be operational in 2028.
