Federal Government Supports New Projects to Promote Francophone Immigration

The federal and provincial governments are contributing $349,684 over two years for the Francophone Immigration Support Program.

The funding will be used to strengthen the Francophone minority communities in Newfoundland and Labrador by creating a sustainable pathway for Francophone and bilingual talent that supports both population growth and labour market needs.

Through targeted overseas recruitment, this initiative aims to attract individuals who can contribute to key sectors such as education, including early childhood education and health care.

Increasing the number of Francophone and bilingual individuals in the public and private sectors throughout the province will expand the availability of services in French, fostering a more inclusive and accessible environment for Francophone residents, as well as supporting businesses seeking to diversify their markets.
