At around 10:55 p.m. Emergency services with the St John's Regional Fire Department (SJRFD), NL Health Services (NLHS) and Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) responded to a single vehicle accident on the on-ramp from Pitts Memorial Drive to Trans Canada Highway, to head eastbound.

When emergency crews arrived, they found a single vehicle off the road. Through the officer's investigation, they arrested a 28 year old male for impaired driving and subsequently brought him back to the police station to provide breath samples.

The male was released from custody with a future court date for impaired driving.
