Government awards 100 scholarships to young women

Minister of Women and Gender Equality Lela Evans announced the recipients of the 100th Anniversary of Women Achieving the Right to Vote and Hold Public Office Scholarship Program.
Launched by the former Liberal Government, one hundred scholarships valued at $1,000 have been presented to 100 outstanding young women in grades 10 to 12.
This scholarship program was designed in recognition of 100th Anniversary of Women Achieving the Right to Vote and Hold Public Office, and to support the leadership development and post-secondary goals of young women in the province.
Recipients were selected based on the following criteria:
Community contributions and leadership potential
Demonstrated passion or initiative for leadership in their school and community
Academic performance
