Girl approached by half-nude man in Gander

The RCMP is reporting another case of a child being approached in a vehicle.

Police say that on Thursday a man, who was naked from the waist down, approached a young girl who was walking home from school shortly after 3:00 p.m. and asked her to get into the vehicle.

The incident happened in the area of Morgan Drive in Gander. The man was driving a red Dodge Journey.

The girl refused to get into the vehicle, ran to a friend’s nearby residence and immediately reported the incident.

Video surveillance obtained from the area identified the vehicle as a red Dodge Journey. The lone male occupant is described as having long dark-coloured hair that was covering his face.

The investigation continues, and anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
