
Fire destroys St. John’s home late Saturday morning

A fire in the East-End of St. John’s early Saturday morning has displaced its residence and destroyed there home.
Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department got the call at around 10:40 a.m. on Saturday for reports of a house fire on Blackwood Place in the city’s East-End.
When firefighters arrived moments later smoke and flames were visible and coming from the roof and side of the home. the smoke could be seen throughout the city, Firefighters used a ladder truck to get an aerial attack on the fire while other firefighters worked to knockdown the exterior fire.
Firefighters gained access to an adjoining home which was previously not occupied due to a previous fire.

Residence and people looked as crews battled the fire for a number of hours. The cause of the fire at this time is unknown and it is currently under investigation.
