At least Three people were sent to hospital following a dramatic crash in Terra Nova National Park
Shortly before 2:00 PM on October 4, 2024 Port Blandford fire department along with Newfoundland Health Services, Clarenville RCMP, Traffic Services Central all responded to reports of a two vehicle head on collision with one vehicle reported on fire on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) just West of the Twin Rivers Golf Course in Terra Nova National Park.
Upon arrival a Volunteer firefighter with Port Blandford fire department did confirm that there was a vehicle on fire as a result of the collision, Firefighters quickly extinguish the fire.
The lone occupant of the truck that had caught fire was not seriously injured. The other three occupants of the other vehicle were taken to Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville with unknown injuries.
A collision Reconstructionist with RCMP Traffic Services Central also attended the scene and the investigation is continuing.
