Applications open for 2026 Athletic Excellence Fund

Athletes across Newfoundland and Labrador can now apply for financial support through the province’s 2026 Athletic Excellence Fund.

The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation says provincial sport organizations are accepting applications for the program, which helps athletes offset costs related to training and competition.

Funding is available through five streams: the Premier’s Athletic Awards, the Team Gushue Awards, the Michelle Healey Memorial Award, the Elite Athlete Assistance Program and the Sport NL Scholarship Program.

To be eligible, applicants must be members in good standing with a provincial sport organization and submit their applications through their respective organization.

The deadline to apply is March 11, 2026. Applications received after that date will not be considered.
