AG to deliver performance audit report on Long Term Care

Auditor General Denise Hanrahan will to deliver a performance audit report to the Public Accounts Committee today on matters related to long term care in the province.

The audit was initiated at the request of the Committee in December 2023 pursuant to section 22 of the Auditor General Act, 2021.

The long-term-care audit is designed to determine whether:

• NL Health Services is providing and administering long-term care appropriately;

• the Department of Health and Community Services is providing appropriate oversight;

• the province's long-term-care program is being properly managed and monitored; and

• the system is meeting the expectations established in the province's Long Term Care Facilities in Newfoundland and Labrador Operational Standards.
