It will be a pleasant evening and overnight across most of the province. Cloudy periods are expected across the Island with a chance of a few showers or flurries along the west coast with light winds and lows between minus 4 and plus 2. Across Labrador, expect overcast conditions for most, with lows ranging from minus 8 to minus 1.

RNC has charged one of its officers with breach of trust. The 50-year-old male is accused of using his position to access personal property that was located in a fire evacuation zone on August 21. The officer will appear in Provincial Court at a later date on charges of breach of trust and breach of an order made under the Emergency Services Act. He has been suspended with pay subject to the outcome of court and internal disciplinary processes.

The provincial government will continue with support in place for the victims of the Conception Bay North wildfire this past summer. More information is coming this morning on the Conception Bay North wildfires. Minister of Justice and Public Safety Helen Conway Ottenheimer will provide an update on the support being offered this morning at 10:30 a.m.

The Squid Cove Forest Access Road is closed to traffic. The closures will last for approximately 10 to 14 days while Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro replaces the bridge. The access road is 3.6 kilometres south along Route 430 from the community of Castor River South.
