Year of the Arts Senior Artist Program grants announced

ArtsNL has invested $200,000 in ten projects through the Year of the Arts Senior Artist Program. This second iteration of the program was made possible by an additional $3 million in 2024 as part of the Year of the Arts initiative.

“The positive feedback we received from the first round of the Senior Arts Program was so overwhelming that when we received additional Year of the Arts monies, we knew we had to offer a second round,” said Executive Director of ArtsNL, Melanie Martin.

The successful applicants are:

• Shirley Moorhouse (Happy Valley-Goose Bay), Visual Arts

• Charlie Tomlinson (St. John’s), Theatre

• Kevin Major (St. John’s), Writing

• Beni Malone (St. John’s), Multidiscipline – Circus

• Pamela Morgan (St. John’s), Music

• Margaret Walsh Best (St. John’s), Visual Arts

• Shawn O’Hagan (Corner Brook), Visual Arts

• Dave Panting (St. John’s), Music

• Clem Curtis (St. John’s), Visual Arts

• Frank Barry (St. John’s), Theatre
