Yard waste collection resumes in May in St. John's


The City of St. John's will resume yard waste collection at the curb as of Monday, May 2. It will be collected on the same day as recycling day and ill continue until the end of November.


There is no limit to the number of paper yard waste bags that can be put at the curb. Plastic bags containing yard waste will not be collected.


Items accepted as yard waste include leaves, grass clippings, plants, shrubs, weeds, twigs and small branches with a maximum diameter of 2.5 centimetres.


Yard waste in paper bags is also accepted at Robin Hood Bay.


All paper bagged yard waste is composted on-site and used in landscaping projects.
