WWI soldier laid to rest in ceremony

A Newfoundland hero was laid to rest on Thursday.
Private John Lambert of the Newfoundland Regiment enlisted at the age of 16, he lied about his age and served in WWI.
Private Lambert’s personnel file indicates that he died of wounds received in action during the advance of The Newfoundland Regiment on August 16, 1917. He was 17 when he died.
It wasn't until 2016 that Private Lambert was recovered. It is believed that he and the other soldiers found with him were buried near this ‘Relay Post’ and for unknown reasons, their remains were not found and recovered following the war.
Prior to enlistment, Lambert worked as a labourer.
