Written Commercial Driver Tests Now Available on MyGovNL

Those wishing to take a written test for commercial classes of driver’s licence and for an air brake endorsement are now available online at MyGovNL.

A commercial driver’s licence is required to operate the commercial classes of vehicles including semi-trailer trucks, buses over 24 passengers, trucks with three or more axles, and taxis, ride-sharing vehicles, and/or ambulances, and buses up to 24 passengers.

In order to be eligible, a driver must have a valid Class 5 licence for at least one year. This does not include time spent as a novice driver or learner.

An air brake endorsement is also required to drive vehicles equipped with air brakes.
