Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department along with NL Health Services paramedics and officers from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to Kent Building Supplies in Mount Pearl at approximately 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday morning for reports of a workplace accident.

Firefighters from nearby Mount Pearl Station responded to the call and quickly assisted the injured person who was briefly pinned between two vehicles at the exit of the Kent yard.

The incident occurred when a person who was waiting in a line in their vehicle accidentally left the vehicle in gear, causing it to move forward while the worker was between two vehicles, causing the worker to then be pinned between both vehicles.

The person was placed on a stretcher and taken to hospital with what are described as minor injuries.

No further information is available at this time.
