Work continues on roundabout project at busy St. John’s intersection

Site preparation is continuing for a planned roundabout at the intersection of Portugal Cove Road, Major’s Path and Airport Heights Drive in St. John’s.

The City of St. John’s says crews will begin working around the perimeter of the intersection starting Monday, with heavy equipment moving into the area.

Traffic disruptions are expected to be limited during this phase, with most lanes remaining open. However, a short segment of Major’s Path will be reduced to a single lane, as southbound straight-through and left-turn traffic will merge before separating again closer to the intersection.

The work, including the temporary lane reduction, is expected to take about two weeks.
