Woman throws glass at officer during traffic stop

Around 11:00 pm last night, Corner Brook RNC conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speeding infraction on the North Shore Highway.

Officers determined that the 57-year-old female driver, from Irishtown, was impaired. While speaking to the female, she threw a glass containing an alcoholic drink at one of the officers. Police detained the woman and she was transported to RNC Headquarters in Corner Brook. Once there, she refused to provide a breath sample.

At this point, the female was charged with refusal to comply with a demand, assault of a peace officer and resisting arrest.

The woman was held in custody due to her intoxication level, but once sober, she was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
