A 52-year-old woman is facing multiple charges following two separate incidents in Paradise on Thursday.

Police first responded around 4:21 p.m. on March 5 to a report of a possible impaired driver outside a restaurant in the town.

Officers located the driver, a 52-year-old woman, and conducted a roadside investigation. Police say she was asked to provide a breath sample using an approved screening device, but refused.

She was charged with refusal to comply with a breath demand. Police also suspended her driver’s licence and impounded her vehicle. She was released from custody and was scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

About an hour later, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers were called to a disturbance at the woman’s residence.

Police say the same individual had allegedly assaulted another resident in the home. She was arrested and charged with assault and taken to the lockup to appear in court.
