Woman charged after disturbance on Lemarchant Road in St. John’s

A 35-year-old woman is facing several charges after police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Lemarchant Road in St. John’s late Tuesday night.

Officers found a woman in the roadway, allegedly swinging a stick at pedestrians and passing vehicles.

The woman was arrested at the scene and charged with causing a disturbance, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of a release order.

She was held in custody and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday morning.
