Woman assaulted with pepper spray in St. John's

On Tuesday afternoon RNC patrol officers responded to the west end of St. John’s to a report of an elderly woman being assaulted with pepper spray.

Responding officers conducted an investigation resulting in the arrest of a 38-year-old man.

The man was charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, breach of a release order and breach of probation. He was held to appear in court.
