Woman Arrested & Charged Following Crash in Old Perlican #nltraffic

RCMP have arrested 35-year-old Nicole Driscoll of Grates Cove after a single-vehicle crash on Route 80 in Old Perlican on Monday.

When police arrived on the scene, the accused showed signs of alcohol impairment and was on court-ordered conditions not to consume alcohol.

Police provided a demand for a roadside breath test. Driscoll refused to provide a breath sample, resisted arrest and assaulted the police officer during her arrest. She was transported to Harbour Grace RCMP Detachment where she assaulted the same police officer a second time.

Driscoll was held in police custody, appeared in court yesterday and was released on a number of conditions.

Driscoll is charged with refusing to comply with a breath demand, resisting arrest, two counts of assaulting a police officer, and failing to comply with a release order condition.

Her next court appearance is set for March.
