Woman arrested after two separate thefts in the same day

A 30-year-old female was arrested on Sunday following two separate thefts in St. John's.


The first occurred at 8:53 a.m. when the RNC was called a theft in progress at a business in Churchill Square. The female suspect fled the area prior to police arrival. Through the course of the investigation, the female suspect was identified by police.


At 3:45 p.m., police responded to another theft in progress at a business on Ropewalk Lane. Police identified the suspect as the same female from the earlier theft. Officers were able to locate the female walking in the area, and she was arrested without incident.


She faces charges of two counts of theft and two counts of breaching a release order. The female also had several outstanding warrants.
