Woman arrested after striking light pole in St. John's
This morning at 3:46 am the St. John’s Regional Fire Department and RNC responded to an accident at the intersection of New Gower Street and Adelaide Street.
A vehicle had driven onto the sidewalk and struck a pole supporting the traffic lights.
The pole was knocked over by the vehicle.
As a result, Newfoundland Power had to cut the power to the lights.
The 28-year-old female driver was charged with impaired driving and driving with nearly three times the legal limit of alcohol in her blood.
There were no injuries.
She will appear in court at a later date.
