Woman arrested after allegedly attempting to enter Mount Pearl home with knife

A 30-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after police say she attempted to gain entry to a Mount Pearl residence while armed with a knife on Sunday morning.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary RNC responded to a report of an unknown trouble call at the home. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a woman was outside the residence wielding a knife and trying to enter the property.

Police located the suspect nearby and took her into custody following an investigation. She has been charged with possession of a weapon and two counts of uttering threats.

The woman was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court.
