WestJet to resume some Atlantic Canada flights

Several flights to and from Atlantic Canada were suspended from major carriers since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now there is some good news.

WestJet announced that flights to Charlottetown, Fredericton, Moncton, Sydney as well as Quebec City will resume beginning June 24.

Flights from St. John's to Toronto will also be coming back.

That route was indefinitely suspended in October. Following a temporary suspension, the restart of service between St. John's and Halifax will be advanced from June 24 to May 6.

The airline industry was battered by the pandemic which saw services cut and routes suspended.
