The final stage of the Water Street Infrastructure Project in St. John's will be completed this year.

The project is a multi-year capital initiative to replace and rehabilitate water mains and sewer lines, along with combined sewer separation, on Water Street between Waldegrave Street and Prescott Street.

The final phase involves installing a cured-in-place pipe liner in the sewer system. This trenchless method renews aging pipes from within, reducing excavation, minimizing disruption and extending the life of the infrastructure.

Work will begin in April and be completed by late spring 2026. During this time, residents and businesses in the immediate area may experience temporary sewer service disruptions, minor traffic delays, and reduced on-street parking.
